A plan for next Sunday

As I need to take chance of the nice weather forecasts for next Sunday and the relative "freedom" I'm enjoying since my wife and kids are still on vacation, I'm about to put myself on the saddle of my mountain bike for a sort of a challenge I had always dreamed about: reaching the top of Brunate, not far from Como and make a visit to the famous Volta's Lighthouse (Faro Voltiano), a monumental but still real lighthouse on top of a mountain from where a stunning view of the lake and the surrounding Alps can be enjoyed. It will be a long day. Just 70 km of road with a climb of 720 meters in just 7 km.

I don't need to hurry, no need to break my back, I'll take the time it demands. Just wish to take as many good pictures as I can.

Home again

On my way back to Saronno from the seaside where I had been "resting" in last two weeks, I drove through Tivoli, an overnight stop, just for the time enough to say "hi" to my parents and drop my wife and kids for a week. After dinner my brother, my son and I made a walk in the town for a really good ice-cream and reached the old citadel where in summertime free admission to the temple of Vesta is granted.

Time to leave

This is my last day here in Vieste, where I spent the first half of my summer holidays. After some hundreds of pictures taken with both my "official" camera and the mobile I've been posting from just recently, I managed to fool the control system of my mobile cam and get a perfectly blurred picture of a dawn. Looks like it was the best option I had to close this period with a picture that brings to my mind the idea of a fading transition.

In the coming days I'll keep posting some of the samples that I took while walking along the white tufa coastline of the so called "spur" of the Italian peninsula.

The Kite Theory

In a well built and lead team, who sustains who? I'm on a beach and the last thing I should think about is work. Nevertheless, I find "food for thoughts" almost everywhere. It's the effect of the early vacation days. I'm pretty sure things will be different in a couple of weeks.

Something to carry on

Some have in mind their holidays and the way to carry on till they get back to the city, some others a way to carry on for the rest of the year, till the citizens will be back on the beach.

Midnight Light

I've been sitting on the grey back a limestone boulder in the deafening silence of the Archipelago's late hours, not far from the small pier where the last ferry back to Saltholmen was expected to stop. I have seen the street lights on the opposite island's harbor switching on, like the brightest stars in the sky, as the sunlight was getting dim and the birds were swimming in the shadows like ghosts claiming the ownership on the natural channel in between. I've been lingering whether to stay or jump on the approaching boat, till the roar of a moped running fast across the island wood came to wake me up.

Blue Oil

The shallow stretch of water between Goteborg and its archipelago, as perceived (and processed) by my mobile cam.

Looking for the midnight sun

A short after-work trip to Branno island, on the Goteborg southern Archipelago. I wonder if I should turn these (sent live via mobile) pictures in Black and White. Once I'll be back home I'll have to reserve some time to "adjust" them anyhow. The real picture I have in front of me right now is much better than what technology vehiculates.
